Howdy! With only a month of ministry under my belt here at Trinity, I am already
beginning to feel very much a part of your Student Ministry. I have met a large
number of you already and am grateful that you have made my family and me to
feel welcome. Your kind words, warm smiles, and patience have each helped me to
slowly become a part of your family. I know that it will take a while to really become
a "member" of your family here, but I am excited about the journey we will take
together in the years ahead. I look forward to learning from you, and maybe even
teaching you a thing or two as well. There are a lot of wonderful things already
happening here…Bible studies, worship times, fellowship, food, games, retreats, a
solid volunteer team, a great SALT team, and a fantabulous team member,
Christina. I stand with you on the mountain of God, looking across a wonderful
landscape of adventure ready to be experienced. I hope you will consider walking
along the Way with us. Please take a minute to look through the news in these
pages to find a place for you to fit…I am certain that if you are looking for
something (or Someone) here, you will find what it is that your heart desires!

Trinity Permission Forms
Our current Trinity Permission Forms are about to expire. We need everyone to
turn in an updated permission form by Wednesday, October 3. The new forms are
available for download on the website. These forms must be notarized and turned
in with a copy of your insurance card. Please fill out the form completely and turn it in to the Student Ministries office by October 3.

Wednesday Meal Cards
Don't forget about the Wednesday meal cards. These cards cost $30 and will cover
10 meals. Remember it is your responsibility to keep up and bring these cards
each Wednesday.

Senior High Fall Getaway
Rockin C Ranch
October 27-28
Cost - $70, Due October 10
This retreat gives our senior high a great opportunity to get away and reconnect
with God. Rockin C Ranch is in east Texas, near Tyler and gives our students a
chance to experience life on a ranch. We will be able to ride horses, feed the pigs
and goats, and gather the eggs from the chicken coop. We will also have worship
by the campfire, hang high above the ground while trying to complete the ropes
course and have time to just relax. We will meet at Bristol at 9am on Saturday and
return by 7pm on Sunday.

What to Bring:
Sleeping bag or sheets
Change of Clothes
Toiletries (toothbrush, soap, shampoo, etc.)
Flashlight

Swimsuit (Too Cold??)

68º - Junior High Retreat
Glen Lake Camp
November 2-3
Cost - $46, Due October 7

68 degrees is a conference wide Jr. High Retreat held in Glen Rose at Glen Lake Camp. During this weekend, Jr. High students are able grow in their faith by participating in small groups, through worship, and by having the opportunity to build relationships with Jr. High students from other churches. We will meet at 5pm on Friday and return by 7pm on Saturday. The registration form and $46 is due by Sunday , October 7. The form is available on our website.

E-mail Addresses
If you would like to receive e-mail reminders about youth events and have not been,
please send your e-mail address to christina@trinityumcarlington.org. These
reminders can be for youth, parents and sometimes both. Also, if you have been
receiving these e-mail's and would like to be taken off the list, please let me know.


Parent Volunteer Opportunities
Having parental support is vital for the success of Trinity's youth program. Please
take a look at the retreats and events that we have coming up. We need parent
volunteers for all of these events. Please call or e-mail me if you are able to assist
in any way. Without parent volunteers, we will be unable to have these events.
Also, be sure to turn in your Safe Sanctuaries forms into the front office. Thanks
again for all you do in support of the Student Ministry program.


Second Saturday Cinema
We will meet at the Mansfield Cinemark on Saturday, October 13, at 5:30pm, and
buy our movie tickets. Then, we will head over to On The Border for dinner. After
dinner, we will head back to the theater to watch our movie. We will be finished by
9:30pm.
